What Is Residential Elastomeric Coating?

Residential elastomeric coating is a high-build flexible membrane applied over exterior stucco and masonry to block moisture, bridge thermal movement cracks, and resist UV degradation. Standard exterior paint is applied at 3 to 5 mils dry film thickness. Elastomeric coatings are applied at 10 to 20 mils, creating a rubber-like film that actively bridges hairline cracks rather than simply covering them.
